TomTom’s iPad App is on the Horizon

TomTom’s iPad App is on the HorizonAre you a TomTom iPhone app user? Ever wish that your little 3.5? screen was just a bit bigger for GPS navigation? Perhaps, I don’t know, say.. 9.7? big for example? Oh, you have? Then you’re in luck, as the sat nav company has announced that it will be bringing its popular iPhone app to the iPad – and it won’t cost existing owners a penny.
Slated for release this Fall, the app will be a free upgrade to the existing iPhone app, turning it into a fully-fledged universal app…
So, what do all those extra inches get you?
According to the guys at Pocket-Lint, who were lucky enough to get some hands-on time with the app,
the extra real-estate afforded by that huge screen will mean we no longer have to switch between screens for information, and the app itself can display more navigational data simultaneously, which is always a good thing!
TomTom’s iPad App is on the Horizon
“What you benefit from on the iPad is the superb size and sensitivity of the touchscreen, the like of which satnavs have been failing to ape for years. What that real estate now means is that there’s space to split the screen with window views within. Practically speaking, that means that you don’t have to surf the menus and experience the advanced lane guidance view as a screen switch but instead at the very same time along side the route map.”

The issue now appears to be a severe lack of any TomTom branded iPad dock for your car. Hoisting that great big lump of aluminium and glass into the air is no easy job, and you’ll be wanting a sturdy contraption if you’re going to trust it with your pride and joy. While there are third-party solutions out there, we’d feel more confident if TomTom had one they could offer up. Until then, we’re not sure we’re brave enough to risk it.
As with all iPad navigation software, you’ll need a 3G iPad, as the WiFi-only models do not support GPS. Bummer.Source URL: https://k12-information.blogspot.com/search/label/iPad

President Obama is the first one in the world to get his iPad - video

Obama is the first one in the world to get his iPadPresident Obama has the power to be the first one in the world to get his iPad , this is the summery of Obama’s words in this video .President Obama revealed in an interview with ABC News that Steve Jobs himself gave the president an iPad 2, and likely before the public launch. The quote from the video is:

“Steve Jobs actually gave it to me, a little bit early… [Reporter: 'Oh that's pretty cool'] …Yeah, it was cool. I got it directly from him.”

Jobs and Obama sat next to each other last February at a dinner of Silicon Valley leaders, so maybe that’s when the iPad 2 was gifted ‘early’. I guess when you’re the POTUS you don’t have to wait in lines like the rest of us.
We know that Obama and the White House team use Macs, but using Apple products is hardly a partisan affair. Former US President George W Bush is also an iPad user, and has said in the past he is “addicted” to the device for reading the Wall Street Journal and playing Scrabble.

How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad

How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPadCurious how to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it’s acting funny and nothing else will work?
Need to install a beta or custom firmware?  Whether you’re experiencing freezes, crashes, or your iPhone or iPad is just doing other crazy things – a restore will fix most of your woes.  Restores are also something developers need to know about to test beta firmware, and jailbreakers should become very familiar with, as sometimes it can make your phone a little less stable than it is stock. To restore, whether on a Mac or PC:
Plug your iPhone, iPod, or iPad into your computer.
If iTunes doesn’t automatically launch, go ahead and launch it.

To the left, you’ll see a sidebar, click on your device.
    You’ll see a restore option.
(Make sure you backup your phone first. A sync can do this, or you can right click on your device name in the sidebar and select backup.)
Then simply click that and let iTunes do it’s thing for a few minutes.
How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad

When the restore has finished you’ll be asked to either set up as a new iPhone or restore from a backup.  If you choose to restore from a backup and your device still acts funny afterwards (i.e. the problem returned with the backup), I’d recommend doing the restore again and this time setting up as a new device. Then re-sync your content.
How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
To install different or custom firmware (say you need to test iOS 4.2 GM or say you’re on 4.0.2 and you don’t want 4.1 for some reason), hold down Option (Mac) or CTRL (Windows) while you click restore, then navigate to your then navigate to the firmware you want.
How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
This is a pretty basic function of iTunes but one anyone that owns an iOS device should learn how to do.  Always make frequent backups and sync your phone regularly to ensure you won’t lose your content if something should go wrong with your device.
Let us know how it works for you and if you have any questions, ask in the comments!

HOW TO INSTALL CRACKED APPLICATIONS ON YOUR iPhone/iPod TOUCH

install cracked applications on iosMETHOD 1 : iTunes method aka .ipa method...First you need TO MAKE SURE that you patched your MobileInstallation file on your device. If you didn’t patched it , you WONT BE ABLE to install cracked apps. Check out how to do that here. This is simple and painless. Double click on the .ipa file and sync your device. Thats it. But just in case you want to know more , this is what is happening. By double clicking the .ipa file, you will open the file with iTunes. The file will be automatically copied into iTunes library. Once iTunes is loaded and the files was opened , you just need to press sync, and the instalaltion begins.

METHOD 2 : SSH method aka direct method.
This is a little bit more complicated, but you will need to learn how to do this stuff sometime.
    1) Download the cracked game/app and extract the AppName.app folder to your desktop or what ever your comfortable with. Make sure its easy to find.
    2) Copy AppName.app into /Applications via SSH and set it’s permissions to 0755 (chmod 0755 AppName.app ).
    3) Create a folder called Documents in /var/mobile/ and set permissions to 0777. (only needs to be done once).
    4) Reboot your device.
NOTE : just to make sure AppName.app = the name of the app or game you just downloaded and you want to install it into your device.
METHOD 3 : IPAPREP method ( the easiest method, saved the best for the last ) All you need to do is to add the xsellize source in cydia and install this package. It will auto patch MobileInstallation file and backs it up for you, so you can continue being lazy and not learning new stuff.
Once you done that just use method 1 : iTunes method aka .ipa method.

How to run ipad apps on iphone

How to run ipad apps on iphoneInteresting news for the Jailbreak community. With a simple hack app and it is possible to use the applications you have purchased for your iPad, directly installed on the iPhone 4. This is iTelePad2Pod. Let's see what it is.It’s as simple as downloading the iTelePad2Pod app and running the program from the Applications folder on your Mac.
Your iOS device must be jailbroken and have OpenSSH installed from Cydia because the tool basically sends the iOS app file via secure FTP protocol to your iPhone or iPod touch. The trick is in changing the app’s underlying metadata to add both devices as designated platforms. Don’t expect miracles, though. Some apps won’t work due to multitouch and design issues, like refusing to work in landscape.
This user's method is essentially the same, and can be done manually as well. All he does is change the app's permissions to 755, as well as the binary. Then toss the .app in your iPhone's /Applications folder, and respring. Voila, iPad app on your iPhone, working kinda sorta.
If you have a need to do this, and do not want to do the manual method, you can use ismoothproject's instructions:
    1. Download iTelePad2Pod Here.

    2. Unzip iTelePad2Pod.zip
    3. Move the iTelePad2Pod folder to the /Applications Folder on your Mac.
    4. Go to the moved iTelePad2Pod folder (/Applications/iTelePad2Pod) and open the iTelePad2Pod application.(/Applications/iTelePad2Pod/iTelePad2Pod.app)
    5. Follow instructions in the app.

iPad 3 Reports

iPad 3 Parts Reportedly In ProductionThe iPad 3 have already begun production, say reports, which gives plenty of credence to the thought that 2011 will see the release of the newest tablet. With these new components, word is that tablet manufacture levels are on par with what they were this summer, suggesting that earlier reports from our own J. Angelo Racoma that said Apple was looking to make the unusual move of cutting back on its iPad 2 orders going into the Christmas shopping season were indeed true, which is pretty much the opposite of what you’d expect.

But given this fact, those reports make an extra note of sense. This fact would be strange by any normal measure–normally when you’re going into a big shopping season like Christmas (which is always at least comparatively big), you get more product, not less–but if Apple’s looking to bring in a new tablet for 2012, especially if they’re looking at a first or second quarter release, it doesn’t surprise me at all that they’d start dialing back on their orders for the end of 2011. This lets the Christmas shopping rushes take care of the excess inventory (and possibly even offer up some impressive Black Friday and post-Christmas sale specials).Source URL: https://k12-information.blogspot.com/search/label/iPad
